Star Slight

I wish At The Drive In were still a band, because I never got to see them live...

anyway for some reason they remind me of my friend Garo's band "Dooms De Pop". they sound nothing alike really, maybe it's the afro's? Or the stage presence?

Which reminds me that, I took some photos of Dooms De Pop a few weeks ago. They really liked what I got and asked me to shoot some photos of the band for a record that they are pressing soon. I'm really excited to do it and Garo (the singer/ lead guitar) has some secret location that he wants to shoot at. I will definitely post photos as soon as I am able to. (probably after the band uses them) here are some in the meantime from the other night at the poorhouse:
Garo also just got a 3,000 sq ft warehouse that he is going to do art shows, bands etc. at in the near future so stay tuned for progress on that, it should be a blast to have a new venue in town!

QOTSA

I just want to note that Queens of the Stone Age are awesome. I really think they got overlooked as a talented band. They had their moment but have seemed to disapear as of late. (maybe because I dont listen to the radio or watch much music television anymore)

here are a few examples of their work...

this one has Dave Grohl playing drums (if you have to ask who that is, just stop reading now) and Mark Lanegan from the Screaming Trees on vocals...

enjoy!

But besides my sickness and lack of a date, It was a great time and everyone had a blast.

Good luck you two and best wishes!

Playa Madera

long time no blog...
I just got back a few days ago from an eleven day trip to Nicaragua. I want to move there. seriously, I really want to. No one takes me seriously except for Tara. I plan on at least gathering as much information as I can over the next year to see if it is actually possible to move there and start up a surf camp/bed and breakfast type set-up.

If you ever go to Nicaragua consider staying at the Buena Vista Surf Club near Madera beach. It is the best spot in that area and Marc and Marielle will take great care of you.
